"Rejoice, Highly Favored One"
As we hail women this month, these verses will help us know our purpose and who we are to God.
Made to help man:
Genesis 2:18 "And the Lord said, 'It is not good
that man should be alone; I will make him a
helper comparable to him' ".
The glory of man, :
1 Corinthians 11: 7, 10-12 "For a man indeed
ought not to cover his head, since he is the
image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man.....For this reason the woman ought
to have a symbol of authority on her head,
because of the angels. Nevertheless, neither is man independent of woman, nor woman
independent of man, in the Lord. For a woman
came from man, even so man also comes through woman; but all things are from God.
Spiritual Position:
Galatians 3:28-29 "There is neither Jew nor Greek,
there is neither slave nor free,
there is neither male nor female;
for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed,
and heirs according to the promise."
Mary's Submission:
The Announcement: Luke 1: 28, 31 "And having come in, the angel said to her, 'Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!'.....'And behold you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name, Jesus' ".
Mary' Song (Prayer of Praise): Luke 1:46-48 "And Mary said,
'My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit
has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; for behold,
henceforth all generations will call me blessed' ".
Blessed are you, women of Christ! Blessed are you, women who will know Christ!
