"Train Up a Child in the Way He Should Go"
I pray the following verses will help you understand more the topic in our Issues of Life section. It is our responsibility to train our children in the ways of God. However, if he goes astray, we do not entirely blame them for it, yet we shouldn't also entirely blame ourselves. For the enemy works blatantly to deceive our youth and cause division in our families. But to love him is better than to blame and to forgive him, better than to condemn. To give him love is our responsibility as a parent and as a Christian. To love him is training him in the way of the Lord.
Colossians 3:12-14 (NKJV) "Therefore, as the elect of God,
holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness,
humility, meekness, longsuffering, bearing with one another;
if anyone has a complaint against another, even as Christ
forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things,
put on love, which is the bond of perfection."
Ephesians 6:4 (NKJV) "And you, father, do not provoke
your children to wrath, but bring them up in the
training and admonition of the Lord."
Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV) "Train up a child in the way
he should go, and when he is old,
he will not depart from it."
